From punk to street culture: British Culture Archive lands at BRIT UNDER FEST

17 mar, 2026

Barcelona continues to build momentum for the first edition of BRIT UNDER FEST and keeps expanding its perspective on contemporary British culture. Alongside music, design and literature, a new key element now joins the programme: a photographic exhibition from the British Culture Archive, showcasing some of the most authentic and spontaneous moments of UK society through a powerful collection of colour and black-and-white images.

The British archive, renowned for preserving and sharing the visual memory of the country’s popular culture, will present at the festival a carefully curated selection of photographs capturing street life, urban subcultures and the pulse of underground music across several decades.

Far from official narratives, these images portray everyday scenes rich in identity: rebellious youth, impromptu gigs, fashion born on the streets, and fragments of a society that has always found a form of expression in alternative culture.

BRIT UNDER FEST is not just about concerts, but an immersive experience that connects the past and present of British creativity, celebrating its most free-spirited, urban and underground essence.
